New study confirms more salmon streams above Pebble

Fishery researchers working for the Nature Conservancy confirm the presence of wild salmon in most streams flowing directly through the area where the Pebble Mine deposit is located. We caught salmon in spring-fed pools that weren’t connected to any visible streams. We found salmon in 3 of every 4 streams we surveyed, and fish important to subsistence, like Dolly Varden, in 98 percent of the streams we looked at,” said Dr. Carol Ann Woody.  To read the full study, and check out the maps, click here: study report
